Formulas presented for calculation of stresses and deflection in plane system and in circular cylindrical silo are derived by using elasticity theory; calculated results are compared with theories of H.A.Janssen and M. Koenen; from given formulas by using approximation method equations are derived for silo of arbitrary cross section; function of stress reduction is calculated for upper part of silo by means of approximation.
