Steel cable structures with suspended shell roofs
Structural principle of bridging large spans with cables to produce roofs is shown to be especially suitable for buildings with large spans such as exhibition halls, markets, hangars, etc, where load-bearing stanchions would inhibit complete functionality; advantages of such constructions are indicated; brief reports are given on Austrian pavilion at International Building Exhibition in Moscow, Austrian special exhibition in Leningrad, restaurant in Vienna stadium baths, and Austrian pavilion for trade fair in Budapest.
