A platform for research: civil engineering, architecture and urbanism
Completion of first section of circular highway outlined in 1960 traffic route plan for Stockholm, Sweden is described; several bridges and viaducts form part of highway giving many different prestressing problems; account is given of prestressed concrete works and types of structure used; methods in erection of foundations and main piers were based on use of large and heavy reinforced concrete elements prefabricated on land which, when sunk, provided form for bottom slabs and parts of piers below water surface level.
