Steel fabric reinforcement in concrete roads
Review of utilization of steel fabric reinforcement in concrete roads in Great Britain; set of trials has been carried out in which attempts have been made to place fabric reinforcement in concrete slab laid by slip-form paver, using suspended sledge; these trials, which follow similar attempts at Cromwell were brought to successful conclusion; problem of ripple, which sometimes occurs in surface of concrete slabs and which is associated with steel fabric, is discussed; some experimental work is described in which theory was tested that ripple was due to vibration of fabric.
