Quality control analysis of asphaltic concrete
Procedure used by Louisiana Dept of Highways to study results from several hot mix plants tests to determine pattern of variability with respect to bituminous hot mix characteristics and to check validity of current bituminous hot mix specifications; individual test results, when subjected to frequency distribution, indicated gaussian distribution; further analysis showed overall variability of each characteristic for binder course mixes to be less than that for wearing course mixes; variability in case of Marshall stability was considerably different for each plant.
