Observations on rheology and fracture of bitumens and asphalt mixes
Resistance to deformation and permissible deformation are examined to find simple system of parameters which could replace individual effects of origin, hardness, temperature susceptibility, temperature at loading, duration of loading period and/or rate of loading of plain asphalt cement; it is shown that C.Van der Poel's stiffness concept has provided valuable means of simplifying description of rheological and fracture properties of asphalt cements and asphalt mixes; further study of variables can be simplified by determining value of mix factor only.
