Research made in India for design of structures for river basin projects is outlined; analytical methods, computers, experimental methods, model engineering, measurements of structural behavior in prototypes and studies of structural failures are described; discussion of application to storage structures which include foundations, dams, sluiceways and spillway piers; application of research to tunnels, conduits, bridges, aqueducts, power house structures, space frame structures and tower.
