Dynamic prediction of pile static bearing capacity
Using field-measured hammer force as input function of time, analytical studies are employed to predict pile dynamic response; when these predictions were compared to dynamic results obtained in field, it was found that good predictions of pile ultimate static bearing capacity can be obtained from analytical studies; results, obtained primarily in silty soil, offer possibility of replacing pile static tests with dynamic ones.
