Prestressing pressure grouting for tunnel-type penstocks; review is made of different grouting methods for prestressing penstock's concrete lining by ensuring intimate contact with embedding rock; new patented method developed by TIWAG (Tyrol Hydroelectric Power Co) is described in detail; method consists in injection of cement slurry which continues until space between lining and rock is tightly filled with cement grains deposited by filtration; excess water is partially absorbed by lining and rock, and partially drained.
