Operation of recharge borehole
Operation of deep borehole into Keuper and Bunter sandstones, recharged in winter with soft water supplied by Birmingham Water Dept, and used in summer as source for irrigation; use made of borehole more than two years, records recharge performance obtained, and describes experiments which were made during period; factors investigated included suspended matter in borehole, characteristics of water used for recharge, and presence of iron bacteria in borehole; experiment in which salt injection and suspended conductivity cell were used for measurement of flows in borehole is described.
