Environmental protection for nuclear applications
Current recommendations are summarized on environmental protection, and areas in need of further research and development are reviewed, among these areas are improvement of surveillance and assessment techniques, development of methods for "finger-printing" radionuclides, formulation of standards for waste control, preparation of guides or standards for use in planning and execution of operations involving major radionuclide releases, and development of environmental counter-measures in event of significant or unforeseen releases.
