Hotel set for culture, 'copters and quakes
El Hotel de Mexico under construction in Mexico City is featuring hotel-cultural complex containing three buildings; 36-story reinforced concrete hotel stands on 260 reinforced concrete piles, driven to average depth of 75 ft; five-level base, with two levels below ground, supports tower, which contains 33 floors of hotel rooms; French slip-form method was used for core construction; form, 1 1/4 in. thick and 4 ft high, was supported by metal yokes, each in form of inverted U; each of 42 yokes was attached to hydraulic jack; special light weight floor system "tridilosa" was constructed from 16th level up.
