Analytical aerotriangulation in highway design
System of analytical aerotriangulation and photogrammetry for highway location and design at Virginia Dept of Highways involves mathematical model that represents relationship between ground objects, perspective center of camera lens, and photographic image; precise corrections for lens distortion and film shrinkage were applied through computer programs; applications are made in preliminary highway studies, topographic mapping, earthwork determination and cross sectioning; improved and efficient surveying and mapping operation, both in office and in field, is reported; accurate results were obtained with analytical method.
