Some notes on precast prestressed tanks
Constructing circular tanks; precast panels, full height of wall, are erected on ring foundation with gaps approximately 1 ft wide between them, gaps being filled with in situ vacuum processed concrete; horizontal prestress is applied by stressed high tensile wire loops in contact with outer face of wall, wire being covered with protective rendering; two 7 1/2 million gal raw water reservoirs constructed at Sasolburg, Orange Free State.
