Storm water flow selection method eliminates silt problems
New sewage treatment plant in Oakland, Calif had disadvantage that large volumes of storm water with fine sand and silt reached it so that sludge collectors were completely covered; to eliminate this, channel was constructed to bypass storm waters; requirements for test to determine whether sand and silt are present and whether bypass gates should be opened.
