Ribless cylindrical shells
Cylindrical shell roofs are usually designed as thin flexureless membranes stiffened by transverse ribs; in many cases it is economical to extend shell to ground and eliminate ribs; evaluation of maximum bending moments, thrusts, and vertical reactions due to dead load, live load, temperature variations, and wind.
