Frost closure of roof vents in plumbing systems
In northern climates plumbing system roof vents sometimes become partially or completely closed by frost accumulating during very cold weather; by means of heat transfer analysis carried out at National Bureau of Standards it is possible to compute temperature of ice-air surface as vent freezes up for any assumed conditions.
