Umgeni scheme, while providing in first stage for daily supply of 20, 000.000 gal, can be developed to at least 50,000,000; estimated to cost £1,750,000 for daily capacity of 20,000,000 gal; dam wall is to be 1380 ft in length and spillway will be 115 ft above surface of river; there will be four tunnels on aqueduct pipe line having total length of 1.24 mi.
