Sewerage scheme in Lancashire
Main sewer comprises 1981 yd of 24 to 36 in. concrete pipe lines, 5231 yd of U-shaped sewer and 1206 yd of precast segmental sewer in tunnel; waterlogged ground was dewatered by wellpoint system; sewer below railway was constructed in open trench; tunnel is 10 ft in diam of precast reinforced concrete segments, lined with bricks; circular outfall 10 ft in diam, is formed of brick lined concrete segments.
