Pile driver leads can be rotated as much as 30° in any direction from vertical; concrete pile lengths used at construction of Mokelumne aqueduct, Calif, vary from 16 to 55 ft; drivers are powered by 60-hp steam boiler; piles formed in clusters of 16 piles all of them on 1-way batter, and smaller clusters with pile driven on double batter.
