Results of investigation of spiral motion around bends by direct measurements taken with pitot sphere, which records velocity components in three planes; characteristics of this spiral motion, as well as other pertinent aspects of bend action, studied experimentally; investigations show effect of varying Reynolds number, depth-breadth ratio, radius-breadth ratio, and deflection angle of bend.
