Concrete gravity dam on Columbia river, Ore, providing for navigation, power, irrigation and recreation benefits is 158 ft high; spillway section, 1310 ft long, controlled by 22 vertical lift gates of 50 ft span; concrete being placed within steel sheet piling cofferdam with earth filled wings; nonoverflow section of dam will include fishways and fish locks; power house equipped with Kaplan turbines of 111,300-hp capacity.
