Rapid method of testing materials for alkali-aggregate reaction
In simple test method for detection of reactive materials in period of 1 mo or less, mortar or concrete, made with aggregate under test and high alkali cement, is sealed in pint mason jar, which is stored in inverted position; jar is examined daily until multiple cracking of glass occurs, or until reasonable age is reached; method is suitable for field use. (See also Pub Roads v 25 n 6 Dec 1948 p 118-20)
