Aerodynamic theory of bridge oscillations
Based on wind tunnel tests, equations are derived for aerodynamic forces of lift and torque on any oscillating section; effects of vertical and angular velocity, angular displacement, angle of incidence; solutions for all practical problems of vertical, torsional, and coupled oscillations, including analytical determination and prediction of frequencies, critical velocities, instability responses and amplitude response.
