Laurentien Hotel construction
Exterior of 21 story Laurentien Hotel in Montreal consists of 12-in. thick cinder concrete back up wall with outside facing of limestone or extruded aluminum; spandrels consist of 1/8-in. thick plastic board; aluminum facing was 50¢ per sq ft cheaper than facing with limestone; prefabricated bathrooms were wheeled into position and bolted to building steel; construction details are illustrated and described.
