Illustrated description of recent reconstruction work; walls of two original outer basins in Square, each of which holds about 40,000 gal of water, have been retained; new portland stone inner basins consist of two superimposed circular basins; pumps and associated apparatus are housed in reinforced concrete chamber constructed below pavement; basins are filled initially from Metropolitan Water Board's mains; thereafter water is circulated mainly by three centrifugal pumps; particulars of water displays and floodlighting.
