Relative strengths of Portland cement mortar in bending under various loading conditions
Tests performed on small mortar beams under sixth-, third- and center-point loading to verify applicability of statistical theory of strength of brittle materials to concrete structures; theory, first developed by W. WEIBULL. is analyzed and compared to methods used by J. TUCKER, Jr; agreement between theoretical and experimental findings is so close as to warrant future testing on plain concrete specimens.
