On Dec 1 1947, 2300 bridges were permanently rebuilt, 510 were under reconstruction and 4100 temporary bridges were in service; examples refer to cantilever steel truss Pirmil bridge across Loire river, prestressed concrete slab bridges having spans up to 20.5 m, Hermillion bridge over Arc river, with 51.4 m span, Luzancy bridge, 55 m span, and Mulberry bridges of Callender-Hamilton type consisting of reinforced concrete lattice girders.
