Steel crossovers between first and second Mokelumne aqueducts had caused leaks to develop rapidly on older aqueduct, even though it had been under cathodic protection for 15 yr; as result of survey with recording potentiometer, two aqueducts were isolated from each other by installing insulated joints in cross connection; since this was done, there have been no further leaks.
