Manufacture and testing to destruction of prestressed, 30-ft concrete poles made in New Zealand; they were required to carry working load, applied 1 ft from top, of 600 lb; tests showed that for prestressed or post-tensioned poles it is reasonable to assume lower factor of safety than for conventional concrete construction.
