Tilt-up wood frame walls cut labor costs
Wood frame construction of two multiple dwelling housing projects in Buffalo, NY; balloon framed walls of houses, with studs 17 ft 2 in. long, have exterior sheathing of 3/4-in. fiber wallboard, brick veneer and steel sash; assembly performed on sub floor, then wall sections were tilted up manually by men stationed 4 ft apart; tilt-up construction saved 15c per sq ft of wall.
