Hangars at London airport -- Design of large span prestressed concrete beams
Use of prestressed concrete in primary and secondary beams of block of 10 hangars; primary beams were 150 ft clear span and were cast in situ; secondary beams were 110 ft clear span and were precast in segments 7 ft 2 in. long; each hangar is 110 ft deep and 180 ft long; 45% of roof area glazed; static calculation.
