Unusual type of cantilever footbridge
Prestressed precast concrete bridge, 247 ft long is formed of two sets of three balanced cantilevers pivoting on 3 1/2-in. diam steel roller bearings on original bridge piers, which are at 150-ft centers; four precast 60-ft long girders are suspended on 2 1/2-in. diam steel roller and rocker bearings at ends of cantilevers; at piers, beams are 7 ft deep and at center of suspended span 2 ft 9 in. deep.
