Bailey bridge used as falsework for erection of bridge in B.C.
Because of depth of water and uncertainty of water levels in tidal river on Vancouver Island, use of conventional timber scaffolding for erection of 150-ft truss span was impractical; Bailey bridge was erected and its top chord used to support floorbeams of new span and facilitate its erection.
