Cause of failure of reinforced concrete filter tank supported upon reinforced concrete columns 12 × 12 in. which transmitted load through concrete piles to ground; examination revealed bad concrete in columns and piles; tank was demolished and in rebuilding tank floor was designed to bear directly on pile caps.
