Reduction of sphero-chromatic aberration in catadioptric systems
Schmidt and Maksutov catadioptric systems suffer from spherochromatic aberrations that are of opposite sign; by use of hybrid system, whose corrector is deep meniscus lens with aspheric curve on external surface, spherochromatic residuals have been reduced and, as consequence, usable relative apertures have been increased.
