Settlement of oil storage tanks
Results of observations covering period of six years on actual settlement of steel tanks used for storage of petroleum products; survey included tanks of various heights and diameters situated on sites with widely varying soil conditions within top few feet; comparison also made between actual and theoretical settlement of large tank for typical soil conditions prevailing in area covered.
