Strength, life and reliability of metal for rail transport
Reference to extensive research carried out by Ukraine research institute for metals and other groups, and decisions made regarding principle ways of improving strength and life of rails, all-rolled wheels, and wheel tires for locomotives; it is shown that new requirements can be met by improving production technology and use of new steel grades; there is correlation between static and fatigue strengths; best possible combination of mechanical properties for metal after strengthening treatment, was established. (see also English translation in Stal in English n 8 Aug 1968 p 682-5) (06650)
