Construction of Lome harbor in Togo; 1525 m long up to 17 m deep breakwater consists of 0 to 3-ton rubble core material and 6 to 12-ton packed natural boulders; it was constructed by means of portal type jib crane of 7.5 m track gage moving on breakwater crown; 72 m wide 342 m long pier was founded on 75 cm OD prestressed concrete hollow piles with 12 cm wall thickness fabricated in situ; pile driving plant was placed on 65 m long platform consisting of three sections which were moved progressively from one pile row to next one.
