Evaluation of sands for sheet asphalt pavements
How good idea of relative suitability of different sands may be obtained by stability test described in paper presented at 6th Annual Asphalt Paving Conference; certain data to illustrate how it may be possible to obtain idea of relative suitability of different sands by means of stability test applied to paving mixtures; preference should be given to that mixture which carries highest percentage of asphalt and shows lowest percentage of voids when thoroughly compressed. (See also Roads and Streets vol. 68, no. 1, Jan. 1928 pp. 25-28, 5 figs; and Can. Engr., vol. 53, no. 26, Dec. 29, 1927, pp. 643-646, 3 figs.)
