A platform for research: civil engineering, architecture and urbanism
Harnessing Gudenaa River was commenced in 1918 by construction of dam half a mile long across river valley in order to form a storage reservoir of 1,640 acres. Water emerges from reservoir through a 1, 000ft. channel to power station with fall of 33 ft. Three duplex turbines are direct coupled to 1,500 kw. generators, producing current at 10,000 volts. Total output of 10,000,000 kwhr. will be obtained annually.
