Full-sized tests on steel bulkhead, particularly in regard to effective, passive resistance of sand and interlock efficiency of deep-arch sheet piling; suggestions as to possible stress distribution in passive prism between wall and surface of rupture; new theory of stability of bulkheads, which takes into consideration elasticity of both wall and soil and which treats problem as statically indeterminate. (See also - (discussions) n 5 May p 754-7. n 6 Aug p 867-89, n 8 Oct p 1233-7, n 9 Nov p 1360-2 and n 10 Dec p 1486-8)
