To prevent damage by lightning, builders placed small pyramid of aluminum, properly grounded, at top; recent inspection showed metal to have withstood 50-hr exposure perfectly; aside from some marks left by lightning strokes no damage is discernible; surface oxide has not obliterated finely engraved inscriptions.
