Details of construction of 4-ft. thick reinforced-concrete mat foundation for 36-story Gulf Building in Houston, Texas; mat was poured over 3-in. working slab, which was reinforced with welded fabric of number of 10 wires; concrete was shot into mat forms down chutes, leading directly from mixers on bank of excavation.
