The effect of variations in gradation of crushed stone on concrete strength
Study of effect of variations in gradation on properties of concrete, provided gradation of stone is maintained within limits which will result in low percentage of voids in all cases; effect of gradation on percentage of voids and strengths of concrete; it is undesirable that any gradation be specified which results in waste of material; test results show that useless expense is unnecessary. (See also Crushed Stone Jl vol. 5, no. 3, Apr. 1929 pp. 1-4, 4 figs)
