Schaefer of Essen, Germany; arch of permanent, fire-proof, non-corrosive concrete slabs is put together so that it will yield slightly under pressure without breaking, permitting movement of upper roof; cost of lining roadways 6 1/2 by 12 ft. is about $100 per yd.
