To improve waterway system, Pacific Gas and Elec Co eliminated 12 mi of old canal by boring 4630-ft, 6×9-ft tunnel; equipment for concrete placing consisted of eight 1 1/4-cu yd Flocrete Placers which also transported concrete; lining supported by structural steel frame.
