Combined road and rail tunnel under construction in Netherlands to give crossing beneath North Sea Canal which runs from Amsterdam to North Sea; road tunnel will have dual carriageways in separate chambers, each 7 m wide, and will be 1644 m long, including approaches; railway tunnel for two lines, will be 3224 m long with its approaches; both tunnels built to allow future deepening of North Sea canal.
