On quantitative determination of retained austenite in quenched steels
By means of special X-ray analysis, quantity of retained austenite in steels of different carbon contents was measured; relation between austenite content and quenching temperature, and effect of quenching media, viz., water and oil, on retained austenite; quantity of austenite in quenched steel is always considerable.
