Silent valley reservoir
Construction of reservoir for Belfast by means of embankment having length of 1500 ft. at top water level, and max. height of 88 ft. above bed level; boreholes showed rock at depth of 180 ft.; construction of four drainage shafts under compressed air, afterwards to be filled with concrete to form part of "cutoff " wall; shafts were lined, where over 100 ft. in depth, with cast-iron segmental plates.
